Every September, Nikiti honors its patron saint, Saint Nikitas, with a vibrant religious and cultural festival. This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful, as the holy relics of Saint Nikitas, preserved at the Dochiariou Monastery of Mount Athos, will be welcomed to Nikiti for the first time in many years.
From Friday, September 12th to Monday, September 15th, 2025, both locals and visitors will gather in Nikiti to celebrate with liturgies, processions, music, and traditional food. The event combines spiritual devotion with the warm, festive atmosphere that characterizes Greek village celebrations.
The Saint Nikitas Festival is more than a religious holiday. It’s a moment when locals and visitors come together to share faith, friendship, and community spirit. For travelers, it offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic Greek culture, enjoy traditional Halkidiki flavors, and be part of a heartfelt village celebration.
If you are staying in Nikiti or Sithonia during September 2025, this four-day festival is not to be missed.
👉 At Summer House Nikiti, we are only a short walk from the celebrations and we’ll be delighted to guide our guests on how to join the festivities.
September is already one of the best months to visit Halkidiki, and this year, with the special Saint Nikitas celebrations, it will be truly unforgettable.
